Recruitment Process

We screen every application and for those selected to progress to the interview stage, you can expect the following:

Recruitment Advisor Interview

Depending on your location, either a face to face or telephone interview with one of our Recruitment Advisors (approx. 30 minutes) will be conducted to review your employment background and suitability for the role.

Reference Checks

Reference checks (1-2).  Referees will ideally need to be recent supervisors / managers or people you have reported directly to and worked with within the last few years.

Village Manager Interview

The manager of the site, village or department of the position you are applying for will conduct an interview. This interview usually takes approximately 15 minutes and take place via phone, in person or video conference.

Pre-employment Functional / Medical Assessment

The tests undertaken relate to the specific job / site requirements you will be considered for.  The type of assessments or components of the medical could include (but not limited to):

  • A review of your general health
  • Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Cardio (e.g. 3 minute step test)
  • Grip test (strength)
  • Audio (hearing)
  • Musculoskeletal (posture and range of body movement)
  • Spiro (lung / breathing)
  • Dynamic Tolerances (body movements e.g. squats)
  • Functional (lifting and carrying weight)

Inductions & Training

Once the recruiter confirms you have completed all steps they will provide an overall outcome. You will be required to complete some mandatory inductions and online training (tailored to your working location / project and role) prior to your start date. These include:

  • Construction White Card
  • Eco Lab Training
  • Fire Safety and Emergency Training
  • Morris Corporate Induction
  • Site Inductions
