Morris is proud to reveal the launch of our mobile kitchen solution at Fortescue Metals Group’s Karntama Village, a truly unique offering at a remote mine site village.
In line with the Morris Fresh approach, we introduced a one-of-a-kind catering offer on 27th April 2016 – a mobile container kitchen.
FROM FANTASY TO REALITY
Morris wanted to provide an alternative option for residents to enjoy hot healthy food, away from the dining room. Inspired by the popularity of food trucks, we thought a fully customisable and mobile kitchen would prove to be a stylish and delicious hit.
The mobile kitchen contains two commercial grade wok burners, a large grill, fridges, bain-maries, and enough room to prep and serve a significant number of customers.
Due to the hot weather conditions in the Pilbara, it was important for Morris to provide a comfortable environment for our chefs. We installed extractor fans and air conditioners to achieve a 10-degree lower difference in the kitchen.
The mobile kitchen opened at Karntama Village in April 2016 and has been enormously popular – serving asian delights to around 350 residents a day. We envision this initiative as one of many that we can offer current and future clients.
